We need to make a fake ice cream sundae for a project. It can't include any real food products, and it has to look realistic.

Any suggestions?

I was just browsing through this girl's DA gallery today - she makes lots of realistic-looking foods out of clay and paint!

I don't remember if she made any ice cream or stuff like that, but here's the link anyways. (Also included link to another food artist.)

Maybe you'll get some ideas from her work?

Good luck!

Goo. Not the runny goo, no no, i mean the clay-like goo. You can find how to make this type of goo in all sorts of places like wikihow, ehow and every other how place. If you add brown food colouring or something it'll look like a chocolate sundae. To make it look more realistic put it in a painted clay ice cream cone. That'll do the trick.

Oh yeah, and one more thing: If you want, you can dribble some fake "chocolate sauce" on it, cuz then it'll look REALLY realistic.

lol

I remember doing this project. I got a sundae glass, and scooped crisco with an Ice cream scoop. put on the chocolate syrup, *could use strawberry also* put some whipped crisco in a pastery bag with a star tip to make fake whipped cream, crushed nuts and a cherry. It held up very well under the lights, and was very realistic looking. As I remember I got an A or A- on it

hope that helps. and good luck!

Use mashed potatoes, cover them up with chocolate syrup or any other flavors, and nuts, whole or chushed. Make it look like an ice cream sundae.

get yourself some polymer clay such as sculpey in the colour you want and then get some Liquid Poly Clay like Liquid Sculpey or Fimo .

Use small amounts of the sculpey mix it up gradually with the liquid sculpey...i generally use a butter knife and sheet of glass or plate, it may take a bit of elbow grease to get it going, once it's at the right consistency put it into what you plan to use as the dish and put in the oven.

I recommend not filling the whole dish to hold it...bulk it out with polymer clay or even foil if the mix is too thick it may crack.

Use different colours of clay ie red and make some cherries etc.

Polymer clay can go in the oven...really easy and reallistic too

Styrofoam for the ice cream and cherry and then like play dough or something for the toppings

Use Crisco shortening for the ice cream. This is what they do for commercials.
