I am sick and home from school. :( I wanted to make something nice for my mom to thank her for
taking care of me, but I don't know what to make. Any ideas?

How about a small bowl or tray? She could use a very small one to hold her earrings/etc at night, or a larger one to keep her cellphone...or to hold just about anything that's not wet or hot or would be eaten later.

One cool way to make a bowl is to press clay over the back side of a small glass or metal bowl (or even a plastic one since you're using air-dry clay), which makes the interior of the bowl very smooth and exactly rounded (or the shape of the form used). Harden, then pull off and paint or build the color into the clay, etc.

The same kind of thing works for a "tray" but you'd just stop putting clay very far up the sides of the bowl or other form so the item would be shallow.

There's more info on doing that on this page at my site, and air-dry clay would work similar to polymer clay just no baking (air-dry 24 hrs or so):

ok, this may well be lame, yet there is a few little ones stuff, that's on a documents-mercial...they say it in no way dries...perchance its referred to as Moonsand! definite, Im confident thats it, (4got at 1st n theory it became Bendaroos) i've got purely seen textured moon sand, yet its plausible that it comes tender, ud might desire to Google "moonsand" good success!
