Hi,

I am a polymerclay artist and I was wondering, if I really need to use glaze after I draw on my clay with acrylics. I read different techniques to use acrylics:
1- sculpture/bake/glazing/bake/acrylic/bake

2- sculpture/acrylics/bake/glaze/bake

3- sculpture/bake/acrylic/air dry/glaze/air dry

I never tried acrylics before with clay, so I am confused and I need your help, which technique should I choose?

Thanks,

I am assuming what you call glaze is just a kind of varnish.

It really depends what you paint. If you make jewelry, the acrylic paint will rub off if you don't varnish it.

If it's something which is just sitting around and little touched you can do whatever you like. I like using a wax coat, it's less shiny.

I assume at least that you can use the same techniques with polymer clay than with water based clay.
