Plaster doesn't dry. It sets. That is, the powder chemically bonds with the water to form a new substance, gypsum, which is a soft rock.

You can speed up drying with a hairdryer or by putting it over a heater. As long as you mold won't melt or warp from the heat. High is ok but you might burnout your dryer. It takes a few hours. And drying the plaster too fast may make it brittle.

no, the setting and hardening of plaster is a chemical process, plaster is dehydrated limestone, your are re-hydrating it,the plaster will heat up and harden, the will sill be wet, the final drying time will takes weeks to finish

Plaster starts to set up by a chemical reaction. After it sets up the plaster is still wet
One method to speed the drying is to put the plaster piece in a low oven about 100 F to 125 F. Over heating weakens the plaster.
Another method is to take the piece outside in the sunshine and a stiff breeze
