IF i carve my initials in a tree how long would it last to be visable?

. My father carved our initials on a tree on 9|19|66 If the tree is still there, would the carving still be visible. I would like to show it to my grandson,

If it was a desert tree like a Juniper or Aspen I think it would still be there. I've seen vandalism and graffiti on Aspen trees that went way back to the 1930s.



Fast growing, Eastern trees, maybe back to the 1970s or 60s. Maybe.
