How do you harden modeling clay?

I painted it and everything. Its for a school project so I need someone who really knows how to harden it. Please help! Thanks :))

I agree with the first answerer.



There is one kind of "clay" that will never harden no matter what you do to it. It's plasticine-type "modeling clay."

But since so many people these days call all kinds of clay "modeling clay," check out my previous answer here to see whether you have that kind of clay, or an air-dry clay, or a polymer clay (those last two will harden but using different methods...and usually paint isn't applied to either kind until after hardening, especially on air-dry clays):

There are wax/oil based clays mixed to never harden



It is stable just keep it away from high heat like in a closed car in the direct sunshine

What does the package the clay came in say?

If it says never hardening - it won't harden

The only think you can do is encase it in acrylic epoxy resin.

You'd put the piece in a jar, pour epoxy resin mixture in it, let it harden, then break the glass, or keep it in the jar, your choice.

You can find epoxy casting resin at most hardware stores like Lowes and Home Depot, and in a lot of Craft Stores, like Michaels.
