Hi, stay away from SculpeyIII. It's very brittle after baking.

Use either Sculpey Premo, or the new 'Studio by Sculpey' clay. Both come in an array of colours. Premo's line is mainly artist colours, such as Cadmium red, Cobalt blue etc.

The 'STudio by Sculpey' line comes in beautiful home decor colours. Absolutely stunning. Both clays are extremely strong after baking, even in thin areas. I've been using the Premo for 10 years, beads, small sculptures, home decor items. I am now experimenting with the 'Studio' clay. Wonderful 'suede like' finish and strong.

Sorry, I have to disagree with the last post. You CAN cane with Studio by Sculpey. I've posted a couple of site with examples.

If strength is a concern, I'd go with Kato Polyclay or Fimo Classic. Next in line would be Premo and Fimo Soft. I've heard that Cernit is pretty strong, but I haven't use it, personally.

Studio by Sculpey is nice, but you can't do fine detail canework with it and it does not buff to a shine (if either of those things matter to you).
