Unless you are an experienced clayer, I DO NOT reccommend microwaving the clay. As stated in Garie's link, "DO NOT MICROWAVE" is the first warning on the package. It's printed there for a reason. Toxic fumes from clay can be very serious. Do not take that chance. It's not worth it. I've been claying since 1998 and I wouldn't do it.

Depends on the brand of clay used and the temperature and time you baked. Premo Sculpey clay remains slightly flexible in very thin areas. I bake at 275F for 30 min. per 1/4" thickness. SculpeyIII clay will be rigid, but brittle after baking, if used in thin areas. Premo is extremely strong.
