I've been experimenting with casting and moulding. I've been using alginate to take the impression and plaster for casting.

Now I would like to try another material like silicone or a rubber. I would like try and cast a flexible (within reason) arm or leg and I was wondering if someone could suggest what type of casting material I should use. Any kind of information or help is grately appreciated as reading up online got me very confused and I would love a recommendation.

I live in Sydney Australia so if anyone knows of places around this area, or in Australia that I can get it shipped from that would be even better :)

Thanks!
Martin

You will have to talk to the people who distribute silicone rubber in your area to find what they have and how stiff it is when set - the rubber can range from as soft as ordinary flesh (or softer) to as hard as a tire on a car. Also you will have to ask about a separator on alginate for silicone rubber
