How to make a replica of the epcot ball?

For student council, we're in charge of "halldecks," which is an event we do every homecoming. Our theme is disney, and we're decorating our hallway as epcot. How can we make a big ball look like the ball in the theme park? please help!

The EPCOT sphere is a geodesic sphere made up of many simple elements bolted together. Depending on how big you were making the ball, the only practical way I can see would be to make a surface model of a portion of the sphere in wood or carved plaster and then press heavy duty aluminum foil - dull side out - to the model copying a dozen or so sections in each tile and then trim the resultant pieces/tiles to fit together on a sphere form.
